I want to introduce myself; this is day one-- I didn't sleep all night and had a huge panic attack about 7 this morning; couldn't go to work. Not just panic but a feeling of real ill being. I still feel quite horrible. I want this to be absolutely my quit. thanks for listening

Welcome to the family. Everybody starts with day one. It's rough at first but it gets better with each passing sober day. I hope our support can help you stay sober for good.

My anxiety went way down after I quit drinking. It's worth a try to see how much better things can be.

I'm with rascal and I once had 2 years and my anxiety and depression was far better than after drinking again.

What I didn't try were meds and therapy and looking back on it i really wish I did.

My panic thoughts/feelings also went away when I stopped and straightened out the mess of a 'life' I had built around my drinking(people, places, things). Life is waaayyy more managable without self created/accepted 'nonsense' added in. I haven't taken anxiety meds in like 6+mo?..maybe longer. The first few months can be trying, but it gets easier.
