Day 18 — Gratitude

I’m awake early (this insomnia is sort of kicking my butt and i’m trying to be patient) and just got in from watering my fruit trees. While I was out, marveling at the brightness of the moon, I saw a burrowing owl perched on my mailbox. I never see them away from their protected areas, which my neighborhood doesn’t have a ton of. It was incredible! And so nice to see because I was awake and felt clear and not because I woke up in a panic at 3am feeling like ****. I may have missed her before.

I’m so grateful for this morning and this day. I’m feeling very hopeful. Grateful to my husband and another day of sobriety. What are you grateful for today?

Quiet morning time is the best! I used to really love it and then started to use it to feverishly workout to try to “undo” all the booze. It’s a fabulous rediscovery to have it be peaceful and centering instead.
