Wait till you get to Parys (the Afrikaans word for Paris) in the Free State, South Africa! Picturesque, but a true one horse country town. We have an Amsterdam as well, and much the same applies.
Leigh, thinking of and wishing you the best. Stay strong.
Have good trip, Vman and good evening to all the rest.

I always love seeing everyone's pictures so I will share some of mine. In contrast to Sao's weather I had 28C and sunshine today. Also I don't think the landscapes in my area are as fascinating but they change very quickly. On my 6 hour long hike today I walked over dusty fields, past lush green meadows, through pine and birch forests,... I even saw wild orchids which were very pretty but unfortunately also just as smelly.
And in the little town that is close by, there is a castle that is much older than it looks. It was first built in the year 997! I also went up a big tower on the backside of it and it almost killed me. I forgot just HOW scared I am of heights... my heart nearly jumped out of my chest! But the view wasn't too bad. Typical German small town and typical German forest but from a slightly different perspective.

kevlarsjal, your 6 hour hike was slightly more exercise than I got today. Just barely though! But we're fresh out of castles down here in South Texas or I might have ambled over in that direction, 5 or 10 minutes worth anyway.
Great pictures everyone . Makes we want to find something interesting to post. Maybe next weekenders.
Today I was at a gas station and I went in to pay just behind this lady who was driving a really nice newer cadillac coupe. There were a number of people waiting to pay and her pump got called. Just as she got to the till, she spotted someone outside and started to panic. She asked for the police to be called and for us to not let 'him' in. The fellow outside saw her then all of us staring at him. He then turned and ran to his car and left. The lady was very visibly upset and shaking. After paying an attendant and a couple of lads escorted her to her car. It just goes to show, you never know what some people have gone thru in thier lives.

Thank you all for the photos! They are so wonderful, and inspire me to make some 'get out and see something new' plans for this coming weekend (as some of you know, I really struggle on weekends, and dread them!).
Paris, Texas, UK, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and everywhere else we all call home. Pretty amazing, eh? Vermont here.
I'm wishing you a happy, sober Thursday.
