Somehow conversations in this thread keep coming back to spiders or snakes...

I've had a great first day of my mini vacation. I might post a picture tomorrow but now it's bed time for me or I'll miss breakfast. Good night weekenders!

Huntsman spiders are the biggest I usually see. They are pretty cool. I took a deck chair on a road side 'freebie' site ( for drawing homework) and true to form (I was expecting it) I discovered I have a new tenant in the backyard- a Huntsman..smallish..would've fitted in my hand.

We don't have tiger mozzies here. Mostly Culex and West nile is a worrie on our region. But lyme disease carrying deer ticks get most of the press in my parts.
They are like little spiders with armour. You can't squish them, you have to cut them in half.

Morning weekenders.

I have to go to Paris this evening for meetings Thursday and Friday. It's not my favorite destination for a work trip I suppose because I used to work and live there.

For now it's time for coffee.

Later weekenders

SAO, I loved seeing a photo of your world! It's so different from mine here in Vermont.

Good morning Weekenders *and goodnight to those on the other side of the globe*

Those of us 'across the pond' are thinking, "Paris - how cool is that!"

I spent six years in the parisien metro Dragon. Six years living in the suburbs. Spose the difference between tourist impression and living and working in a city. It's a nice city all the same.

Time to get on this plane.
Least the passport is in order this time

Safe travels, Vman. I’m,over my time in Paris but the Southern part of France is my favorite.

Greetings, all.

Prayers for all on the East Coast, USA.

Lions, tigers and bears -oh my! Spiders - run and scream

26 lesions as of this morning and the pain has ratcheted up a bit. This, too, will pass.

Sending love to all.

Cake, anyone?

Sending healing vibes your way Leigh! I really hope that stuff does the trick.

I was in Paris myself earlier this year for work, it is a lovely city. That said I spent most of my time in La Défense which is a newish business district and not the Paris of people's imagination.

As promised a pic I took from just below Loughrigg Tarn overlooking Grasmere when I did my 90 days celebration walk and map reading course (I wanted to have something special and different to honour this day!). I am really tempted to book another guided walk to do Helvelyn and Striding Edge which is one of the most loved walks in the Lake District for my birthday next week but not sure if I am fit enough yet haha!
