Looking good Billy Ray! Feeling good Louis!

Some of y’all I hope get the reference. Just updating. I am feeling well and sober. Anxiety is a bitch, but I am managing with Gabapentin. It is helping. I’m in an OP treatment program and doing AA — although my sponsor had me start over on the Steps. I was at Step 4 when I relapsed.

Went to a really great meeting today. People shared about the guilt and shame that one feels during early recovery. Dang near everyone talked about it and each story was the same. We all had/have it. But AA is helping manage it. The veterans said eventually it goes away. Very heartening.

My wife is supportive as always. But she is skeptical and truly sick of my drinking. I don’t blame her one damn bit. But she told me the other day that she is going to stick by me and that the “D” word (divorce) is not in her vocabulary.

Anyways, I am doing well and sober. It is damn near crippling at times trying to deal with sober at times. But I really believe I will conquer this this time.

And thanks to all here who have been so supportive during this journey.

Glad to hear it man. In the end for us the sober life truly is better in every freaking way.

Congrats, keep it going.

I totally got the reference. I also adore their cameo in Coming to America. Classic.

And I am happy for you and the update. It is said that step 4 is a common trip up spot so it sounds like a good plan from your sponsor. Glad you are willing to start the steps anew.

Take care and keep going.
