Dearest PJ - I'm so thankful you made it out of hell. You are much loved & appreciated here. I'm sorry for the horrific injuries you had to cope with. So grateful for the person you're evolving into.

I just read your story PJ and am truly moved by it. I have been thinking to continue drinking for me is most certainly death. Even if I live for years drinking my soul will be dead. I am on day 8 sober want to live and my soul is waking back up. God bless you PJ

I hadn't read your story before, but your username holds new meaning to me now. You've quite literally risen from the ashes! Thank you for sharing.

PJ,
So proud of success!!! Not only are you supportive to your peers on this forum, you are an inspiration to all of us on F&F. We appreciate all that you have to offer.

I hope that your family can finally recognize all that you have done to turn your life around, if not we do!!

Sending big hugs to you on your Anniversary!!

I just want to thank you, PJ. You've shared so much and helped me (and I'm sure many others) more than you know. I still screw up with regularity yet I can look to you and others for the right path. You are an inspiration.

I hope this same thing for you PJ. I think it will happen, if not right now, in the future.

Thanks, folks....
I sent an email to the burns unit. One of the senior doc's after a brief congrat- asked me to go in so he can get more photos ( for the conferencetrail I presume) - well they DID save my life.

Soberl- my first SR name was 'Icarus'....because I never listened to anyone and flew too close to the sun and plummeted to earth. Someone (forgot who) suggested my change in words showed Phoenix was a better fit. I even have it engraved on the back of my fancy watch with bits...as a reminder and much cheaper than a tatt.

We all could have had Icarus metaphorically as a username, PJ.

Phoenix is tailor made for you.
