Russell Brand book

Years ago I read Russell Brand’s My Booky Wook. I started reading his latest book, Recovery, Freedom from our Addictions. He puts his own spin on the 12 steps, which is simple, honest, straightforward and a bit funny. He believes everyone, whether in recovery or not, can be helped by following the 12 steps since addictions in all areas of life pervade our culture, numb us and prevent us from addressing our feelings. As I also recently started reading the BB and the 12 steps, I couldn’t agree more with this guy. Even though I am no longer drinking, the triggers are still there and my emotional sobriety will always be a work in progress. The 12 steps are helping me with this. I’ve also realized that as I’m trying to teach my son emotional intelligence through life, it’s really no different from emotional sobriety. So, yes I think the 12 steps can work for everyone.
