Quitting smoking

Hello kind people . I must give up smoking only started last year when split from husband. It is emotional but become a terrible habit. I cannot afford it but mainly i can see how it destroys my skin , lungs and well being. I prepared patches , i am going to do it through smoking cessation seeing nurse every week over 12. Now...some folks say not to do it in early recovery but i must . It is a must. Looking for sucsess stories to motivate me and inspire. I m starting from tommorow. Wishing all sober Thursday xD

Giving up smoking is quite intense during first week but abates quickly. I think it is weaker than alcohol as you don't get a high, just put back into a "normal state" by adding nicotine. It has much less impact on lifestyle and there is not much motivating reason to smoke again once you get through withdrawal.

I quit smoking also in early recovery. For me I just wanted to rid myself of anything that had a negative impact on me. I used an ecig and still do use one but i'v cut down from 18mg nicotine to 6mg of nicotine so I am hoping to be nicotine free completely and off the ecig by Xmas. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl 😊

I am also all or nothing ... so true . Smoking is deffinitelly emotional response to stress as alcohol. No middle grand for me ..or or either... last vice is coffee... but i drank more when smoking so hope cut back to two a day after smoking goes away. I have patches and mtgs with nurse its supportive as i work well under supervision. A bit worry about weight gain but actually i put on weight while smoking from 59 kg 175 cm tall to 63 kg. I do not take sugar or processed foods so i hope its gonna be ok , not for vanity reasons but practical cannot afford new clothes so whats left needs to fit in . X D

I couldn't stop drinking and smoking at the same time. Try vaping . It's a miracle.
