Hello from Somerset.
Greetings!
I'm a 48 year old mother of three and after many pathetic attempts at moderation am now determined to be AF. I'm on 16 days today.

Congratulations on Day 16! Yes, I have found that not drinking is easier than figuring out the moderation thing. Like the old saying goes, "Two is not enough and one is too many." I think if I were a "moderate" drinker, I wouldn't be stressing about how to moderate, lol.

Somerset! Nice. I was born in the west country (for some reason it blanks out the city name when I write it, but just north of Somerset) but live in East Coast America now 
Congratulations on 16 days. MANY people here will agree with you (myself included) that it is much easier to avoid alcohol completely than it is to try moderating.

NerfThis - I took a guess at the city you meant - the one with Clifton suspension bridge - and yep it blocks it out. The only reason I can think of for why is cockney rhyming slang! That's funny!

I'm in Minehead a couple of times a month, planning on moving there full time soon
16 days AF is great going!

You are in good company. Pretty much everyone here tried moderation again and again and again in failed miserably every time. Seems that once you pass a a certain point with the drink we can never moderate no matter how long we stay sober. Quitting now will save you so much pain in the long run.
