Three months today, thanks for your support.
Hi
I've made it to three months again. Getting to three months is always a bit of a sweet spot for me because it's when I really start noticing the difference in myself and this time around I feel that I have a really solid foundation to build upon.
The past week has been testing though, as will the coming weeks be. I received bad news about my health and I’m now waiting for the results of further tests but I'll post more about that after my follow-up appointment when I'll hopefully know how things stand.
I mention it now because in the past that would have been enough to have me reaching for the bottle and yes, my AV came on strong of course but I quickly silenced it. Thanks to my pledge of permanent abstinence I now have the upper hand, never means never.
Thanks for all the support here too. SR is a really great place and offers an extremely valued service. The way people have made me feel welcome here is much appreciated.
Oh, this is my 200th post too!
All my best,
J

Congratulations on 3 months, BP2! It's excellent that you are feeling strong in your sobriety despite your health issues--things will continue to get better and abstinence is always better for your body. Best wishes on your continuing sober journey.
It was exactly at three months, 10 May 1980, where I had that "sudden realisation that God was doing for me what I could not do for myself"
It was a pivotal moment where I relaised my life had changed forever, and at last I was on the right track.
Three months is a big deal. Well done.
