Laid the bike down
Not sure how this fits in if at all- but wrecked the bike Sat.
Was headed to my sister's place for brunch, got off interstate and was turning left in a double turn lane when the minivan next to me decided to slide over into my lane. Knocked the bike out from under me, was almost done sliding before I realized anything was happening.
Bike is ok, a few minor repairs, I'm a little scraped up but prob won't die.
Honestly not sure what this is all about but my mind keeps circling around the idea of "yeah you weren't drinking but bad stuff still happens".
Kind of a wake up maybe? Like hey life still happens, gonna have to do it sober now?
Not bad at all, just one of those "oh I probably should have known that" moments.

I'm sorry for your accident mattri.
For sure bad stuff still happens - recovery not magic - but I'd rather deal with stuff sober than drunk - that little millisecond more of response time can make all the difference.

I’m glad you are ok. Yep, life still goes on and bad stuff happens sober or not. One of the first things I realized too. But dealing with any of the bad stuff while drinking just makes everything worse. It’s good to start thinking about healthier alternatives than alcohol for dealing with these bad moments. It will take time, reflection and practice.

Glad you're ok. You can't control other drivers, so yeah unfortunately bad things will always continue to happen on the roadway. But you can control you, and as a nondrinker you will never get a DUI, nor will you kill yourself or someone else because you were driving drunk. So, those are two pretty big wins, don't you think?

Thanks for all the positive feedback!
Never had anything really "bad" happen when I was drinking, no wrecks, no dui etc. but was definitely a little glimmer into how bad it could have been.
Have a dr appt on friday, just a check up but think I'm going to bounce some of this and the other stuff that's been rattling around my head off of her. On the right track but may be time to look bigger picture.
Thanks again to all, will keep ya posted
