15 Weeks Under My Belt

Still going strong guys. It's so strange as I haven't had any desire to drink. I was expecting to be tormented by alcohol but the thought hasn't even crossed my mind.

My brother was talking about his night out and how he felt rough the next day. I'm glad I'm not him. It makes me feel proud that I've escaped that. I think back to the times when I felt so ill but I was ok with that because alcohol was my crutch. I'm genuinely scared of hangovers since quitting which is another reason why I have no desire to drink.

Well done!

For me, in the beginning, fear of the consequences of drinking really helped me to reconsider the idea of a drink when those thoughts would start creeping in.

I eventually had to do more than that to stay sober long-term, but that is still one of the many tools I use. I am so grateful that I have the power of choice now.

Congrats! I know the feeling of fearing the real pain and suffering I used to make myself go through to feed my demons. You should feel proud. Keep it up.
