I've been drinking WAY TOO much.

I had 9 months and relapsed while on Ativan for anxiety.

My new "doctor" treated me like pond scum which made me feel even more disgraced and made me drink more.

Rehab is not an option.

I could sure use support in detoxing. I can't face the day without knowing I have beer.

Please help if you can. I feel like human garbage.

I have 3 dogs that depend on me and my disease keeps telling me what a lowlife I am so I keep drinking.

I hope you can get rid of the beer and not drink today. Today would be a good day to start your sobriety.

Don’t listen to that voice in your head Magnolia — the one that is telling you you are a lowlife. That’s your addiction talking, and it is a liar.

You deserve more. And you can start today. Lots of help and support around here.

I'm actually selling my car beccause i need the money and I don't trust myself to drive.

I depended on alcohol for love, comfort and to make me calm down.

I honestly was just trying to help myself. I've never felt so alone in my life

Love yourself half as much as your dogs do and you'll get through this.

Magnolia, you are not alone here. Many of us drank to self medicate just like you. This doesn’t make you a bad person. You are just surviving. But there are better alternatives to alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant so even though it may take the immediate edge off, it will keep you down in the long run and keep causing all kinds of problems. Doctors can be the worst. I had a therapist who also made me feel worse. Can you get a more sympathetic doctor? I hope you will keep coming here for support. We’ve all been through this. Why is rehab not an option? If you are suffering withdrawals and it’s not an option, you can find a doctor who can prescribe something for you maybe?

Hi Magnolia. I'm glad you posted again.

Many here have been through the same exact thing. We understand like no one else can. At the end of my drinking days, I was dependent on it to get through the day, or I'd shake & be sick. Is there any way you could get another doctor's assistance with detox?

Posting here really helps with the anxiety. It's a relief just to know you aren't doing it alone. You can get free of it. You'll feel so much better when it's no longer part of your life.
