Freshly sober day 4

I found this group 4 days ago and was really struggling with getting sober, fear of the withdraw symptoms and sick from the pain. I am now on day 4 and feeling amazing. This group helped tremendously, not only the responses to my posts but I've been reading a lot. I know it is one day at a time but as of today, I'm sober and so grateful. I made it through the pain, the guilt, anxiety, the feeling worthless part. Now to stay sober! I have not had many cravings, Thank God! I've been praying everyday to stay on this track. This group is amazing! Keep fighting, we are worth it!

What an inspiring post. Congratulations on four days.
It sounds like you're on the right track.
Don't stop before the miracle happens.
Best to you in sobriety.

Welcome!

Have you checked out the Class of August 2018 thread in the Newcomers Daily Support section? It is people quitting this month. My class of Feb 2016 was a great support and a way to make SR friends I still have!

Keep going!

I am allso on day 4, after a relapse lasting 9 months. I got to know the awsome feeling of sobriety, and want it again- for eternity this time! My last sober period I thank SR for. Deeply! So- I am back here.

I will not spam your thread with my story- just say hi and let you know that I´m here allso :)
Can we do this? No doubt in my mind!! :)

Well done!! Four days was a really big deal for me, the physical withdrawals were easing up and I was coming out of the cloud, hope you're feeling healthy and happy!

Maybe I missed it but have you been able to come up with a plan for staying sober? Some goals, support etc?

Congrats!! The first few days are hard but you have gotten through it. I hope you will keep coming here and consider other support as well. For me, this has been a complete life style change and i have to stay focused on this everyday. I agree SR is so helpful!

I have a great support system with family and friends. I plan on going to some AA meetings as well. Today, I am good. I'm changing certain behaviors as well. Going to rearrange some things in my life. My parents are recovering drug addicts so they have been helping me through this process. My goal is to stay sober by any means necessary!
