Weekender Thread 16-20 August 2018
I'm here thank you Venuscat, I am uber busy at work trying to convert the results of my business trip up north into production requests.
Tatra, I am sorry to hear about your losses but I'm glad to see you on the thread again.
I am not familiar with Frightened Rabbit but 36 is shockingly young, alcohol and poor mental health is a deadly combination.

FINALLY I was able to upload this pic from yesterday....turns out there was a nice sunset so I thought I'd share ~ those storm clouds hung out for a while but it only rained a little....it was weird!
Cute story to go along with it....I sent this to Mom and mentioned that I posted it on Instagram....she was a little cautious about my revealing the location and I said I try not to be too specific.....then said "Unless Mr. Larkin wants to show up and whisk me away on his Harley, but I don't see that happening"
She replied "How about a row boat?" So I said "Or a dinghy!" We were cracking up....guess you had to be there

Sunset here last Night in the CA & CO Fire Smoke-infused Sky.
Referencing a recent Weekenders, MesaMate's lil SUV seems all mo bettah now from the A/C Wiring-destroying Mouse Noshing. Insurance covered the pricey Repairs, less a $50- Deductible. 4 Specialty Traps from Amazon are on the way to *surround* her Vehicle in her Garage.
I'm upgrading the Solar Collector Energy set-up on our Trailer since Fall Camping off-Grid for a few Weeks might happen early next Month. In any case, no time like the present to dink around with Technology! A parallel Upgrade is to remove the Trailer Dinette Table & Seating, and custom fit in a swanky Sleeper Sofa I bought on line. MUCH more room, and we'll make use of some way campy '60s TV Trays the ILs left us come time for Meals.

What a nice photo and what a nice castle Sao! I haven't seen it when I was in the highlands, there was just too much to see. I'd love to go back one day
Edit: Oh, I love it when you can walk around inside and see how those fancy people used to live their fancy lives!

Thanks for the pics vman. Yesterday doctor said loose weight, take my B12's (I kinda stopped and forgot about them) and drink less coffee - As IF! My alternative is to eat something first so today it was toast then coffee.
I would be honored
Weekenders are welcome in the south of france any time.
This photo is on the way to the col de l'ou.
The small village you can see on the bottom left is pourtalet or the col du pourtalet. It is the border with Spain and an old mountain pass from war times and before.

I haven't posted a creature for a while so here's a piece about the wonderful Tarsier.
Sadly all species of Tarsier are now vulnerable to extinction when once they could be found all over the world.
From the article:
They are some of the oldest primates on the planet, dating back about 40 million years with fossil records showing them once at home all over the world including North America and Europe.
