I've pretty much settled into the AVRT thing as my go to way of thinking about recovery. I very much like the simplicity of it. I drink, bad things happen, so don't drink.

However; I do find I agree with you completely. Everything in my life had to change. Everything. I'm still working on some of that. New habits, new ways of feeding aspects of my personality in non-destructive ways, new ways of being self-compassionate, new ways of learning about who I really am... the list goes on.

I love all these suggestions, and this belief -- which I share -- in willpower. Please keep sharing your insights. I am newer to this than many others, and appreciate the thoughts! You are amazing people …
