No more CHOCOLATE or crap food 30 minute daily exercise every day I know it's kick start I needed Just feel a little deflated that I've given up everything...and my chocolate was my treat I can't even do CHOCOLATE in moderation 🤣 But I know it's the best thing I can do Get out and power walk Thanks for reading all Nitey nite Cara❤ |
Hi Cara :) Blood pressure is also effected by sodium so don't forget to try and reduce it, it did wonders for my BP now I average between 1500 - 2300mg per day (usually the lower) and since I reduced it several months ago I don't even notice the difference anymore. Bananas, beets and spinach are also great for reducing BP so if you are into a morning smoothie try those. You can get a mix called The Brainiac that only needs some spinach added  I know what you mean about chocolate though I have developed a serious sweet tooth since I quit. Good luck :) |

So, an hour of exercise a day and a smidge of chocolate would be a good compromise, huh? |
A smidge of chocolate is like a smidge of alcohol. No good at all to the real addict lol. I'm laughing, but in OA (Overeaters Anon) plenty of people have trigger foods that they make the decision to avoid. Just as we avoid taking the first drink, they avoid taking the first bite. I know there are certain foods that, if I'm honest, they only way I want to eat them is 'until I feel sick'. Food can be complex. And it can be a cross-addictors dream / nightmare as well, because bingeing and restricting can be done so secretively and with so much of that rationalisation we're so good at that we start to believe it ourselves. Dunno where you are in the world, but if it's the UK maybe treat yourself to some of the cherries they have in Sainsburys at the moment. Boy, they're good! Good luck on the healthy eating and exercising, BB |
Thanks all ... Yeah berrybean I'll do that I'm in Ireland (Never out of Sainsbury's) I know I was out of control with chocolate A smidge was never any good to me ) I needed the shelf ❤cara x |

It just occurred to me this might be considered medical advice? I'm not sure so sorry if it is :scared: I'll definitely be trying this x |
Have you looked into Organic Cacoa Chocolate or Cacoa Chocolate Nibs? I had to do some major research online for healthier foods to eat for myself too. 2 small squares of chocolate with a handful of fresh strawberries for a nice healthy treat. :) Eating more green veggies, fruits, protein and less carbs has been my eating plan this Summer and moving forward as I get older. I got sick and tired of the rollercoaster ride of up and down weight eating so many unhealthy foods thru out my life that I had to make some changes and choices of what I want to put in my body today. and the garbage out their in the world and stores had to go. :( The more I have researched the more upsetting it is to know that there is more junk on the shelves in the store than healthy foods I want to buy. Sad but true. Anyway.....I found these organic Cacoa bars located at Walmart called Green and Black's Organic Cacoa Bars which I had to really look for them amongst all the other crap candy. Buying Organic items which are few compared to all the unhealthy foods out there is the way Im eating now. I had to lay to rest or bury all preservative foods for good cause it aint working for me no more. Heathy foods in and bad stuff out..!!! :) |

I lost a ton of weight on the ketogenic diet, where you cut out nearly all carbs. I also lost most of my sugar cravings. Blood pressure now nearly normal after losing 55 pounds, or about 4 stone. |
Brilliant mindfulman ...well done That's super amazing It's so hard though 😓😭 Cara |
I make pancake batter that can be in the fridge for 3-4 days, english pancakes like french crepes not the fluffy american ones. Then when I crave something sweet I can make a small pancake, chop some banana on it, a sprinkle of organic chopped hazlenuts, a drizzle of honey and it's much more satisfying than chocolate. You can add any kind of fruit, strawberries, blueberries, chopped apple or pear! Or get some pineapple rings, or peaches, put them on a griddle and when done pour over some natural yoghurt. ...or sprinkle a banana with cinnemon, drizzle with honey and oven bake it for 10-15 minutes. ...or get some orange pieces (cut out of the skins so just the flesh, put them in a pan with a little coconut milk and ginger powder. Just a few idea's of things I do as a treat so I don't feel like I am denying myself the pleasure of the sweet stuff and it's more healthy as it's real fruit and you know what's in it! |
