Weekender Thread 02-06 AUGUST 2018
I’m in! Howdy everyone
Back home from rehab and working my recovery plan! It’s been a little tougher than I had expected being back around normal life, mostly because of the effort I have to put in to make this work. No more excuses, the price for laziness, procrastination, no exercise, not managing my baseline and being aware of how I feel and processing it is just not a price I am willing to pay again!!
Want to also say thanks to all the weekenders for the supportive posts when I was in rehab, there were some bad days and posting here and you all supporting me, knowing the right things to say...well, there are no words to describe how much it meant and how important you all are to me and my recovery

I'm in!
Not much planned this weekend, for a change. Babysitting my granddaughter Friday night, overnight - that's always exhausting. I need to go find some new toys and games for her. She has pretty much outgrown most of what I have at my house, and my daughter is screen-averse. Usually my son (16) helps me a ton, because he will play hide and seek and stuff like that with her, but he won't be home. Yikes! It'll be fun, though.
My trip to Chicago to clean out my dad's apartment went well. It's empty now, so I'll get aggressive about selling it. I have two interested buyers, so I'm hoping it sells quickly without needing to list it. I have a lawyer down there who is the executor, and he has experience with real estate contracts.

First of many sober weekends Ekohe!! I wish that for you and if you feel the urge, it gets to much post post post! You got this, you are strong and the weekenders and SR is here when you need a reminder of what an amazing thing you are doing!! xx
Oh, I'm sure I'll cave to a screen at some point. She likes playing games on my ipad. It keeps her busy long enough for me to get her a snack - which she asks for approximately every 10 minutes. Bottomless pit, that one. I don't remember either one of my kids eating that much.

I'm not actually feeling down at moment but thought this song would be fitting because I really do appreciate SR being around.
The Beatles - Help!
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way,
But now these days are gone and I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind, I've opened up the doors...

I just picked two quarts of wild blackberries and ate about another pint while picking them.
So yum - and I found a bountiful patch on a South-facing sunny hillside, I'm going back tomorrow.
Day before yesterday there was a yearling male deer eating them on our property, I watched him for probably ten minutes, as I inched closer and closer - and he let me get pretty close. His main focus was on the apples that have begun to fall from an apple tree beside our driveway. I had to stop watching when he got up close to the road, didn't want to be influencing his movements at all with cars driving by 20 feet away.
The deer is my spirit animal, Snufkin. At least according to the Native American lady who did the "ceremony" with us.
