To be honest Dee..

I'm not sober...and am struggling to get back. I'm not out of control, but am aware how quickly it can get there. I'm not sure how to begin again.

I miss how I felt at 6 months sober...

I really don't know how it goes back to the old ways...drinking, making excuses....ect...

I'm embarrassed to come back here, asking for help.

re-reading your old threads can help - harrowing reading sure.... but you'll see what worked last time.

If thats too much - It all starts with a day one wildflower

you've done this before - I believe you can do it again

I feel like a failure Dee,

I am so embarrassed that I am back at day 1..I'm not even at day 1 yet....

My shame is keeping me in these shackles.

Remember when I wanted to leave SR? The last time I went out of control? I'm close....I need SR now..

I'm gonna lay it out for you wildflower

Everyone else here has been where you are and felt like you do now.

Every,. Single, Person.

You are not the worst person here or even the worst drunk ever

I understand the feelings but it's just AV trying to convince you there's no point to sobering up.

That's nonsense - and the sooner you challenge that and start working for your recovery rather than you're addiction, the sooner you'll be back on track and the better you'll feel.

stand up dust yourself off and hold your head head high and let your addiction know that you - the real you - is back

I'll echo what Dee said, we have all been there - having fallen and wanting and needing to come back. What many of us don't have is your success at 6 months of sobriety. That's really truly impressive and and though you've lost the thread for the moment, you have that strength and experience and wisdom to get back to where you should be.

Hi Wildflower,

I missed feeling how I felt at 3 months sober so I made the choice to stop drinking and try and get back there and now I soon will be.

In six months from now you could be back to that feeling which you're now missing, you've done it before so you know you can do it again.

Good luck.

I’m going to repeat what others have said but we’ve all been there wildflower. We know what it feels like to be in your position, and we know how hard this is. And for me personally, I’ve been there more times than I care to think about.

I agree that you should join the August thread. It’s an awesome group and we lean on each and lift each other up. I think you’ll find it super helpful
