How long to be drinking to be at risk of seizure?
 

I know some have seizures during withdrawal.

I have only drank 11 days straight but very heavily, probably 20+ drinks a night, some a little less. I quit almost for a day but at night I was just very anxious and had a couple beers so I’m on day 1 tomorrow.

I’m not shaking really, or convulsing just very very anxious and tense, and tired with brain fog.

Are seizures more common for those that have been daily for months and months and years?

I'm afraid we are unable to answer that question with any certainty. If you are concerned, you should seek medical help if you are able. I got myself in deep a couple times and was able to taper my way out but it is not recommended here.

I don;t think length of time drinking is a determinant in most cases.

I drank for 20 years - 5 years all day everyday - and I had no seizures (mini strokes from astronomical BP levels sure but that's another story) :)

Everyone has a different seizure threshold. No way to predict unless you’ve had seizures before. A doctor would be able to help you avoid that. Good luck and best wishes!

If you can get your doctor's help with detox, meds can be given to reduce anxiety and risk of seizures in the first few days of withdrawal. Get your doctor's help.
