I seem to be doing it more and more.
I'm reaching out to an old acquaintance who goes to AA.
I clearly cannot do this the same way I was doing it before.
I have decided I need to start going to meetings.

Glad you are back, Jack!
Going to meetings is a great decision. You will get the support and tools for recovery that you may have been lacking. SR is another great place to post 24/7 whenever you need to talk.

I came to the same conclusion today.
I can't do it alone either. Good for you! I think there is so much wisdom that comes from the AA'rs here that it has inspired me to go. I'll be really interested to here how you get on. Rach xx

Jack - the same thing happened to me. I now have over 10 yrs. sober - so I know you can have success. I'm glad you realize you need to make some changes - you're not giving up, & that's what counts.

Hey Jack D89
I restarted my sobriety 5 times in 2.5 years until, one day, I had an epiphany...Why don't I do what I am told? That was the end of the beginning for me.
I went to 90 meetings in 90 days, talked to a sponsor about the steps, and went to Buddhist classes for my spiritual growth - and it worked.
I stayed sober in the fellowship and got a lovely understanding of spirituality that was missing with Buddhism. Sometimes, trying to do it the same old (MY) way won't work.
