Vinificent

Welcome back Shenzy! Wine was my best friend too - until she visited too often, overstayed her welcome, and took up too much space in my head/body/life. I had a very hard time letting go, and thought I could let her back in my life in smaller increments, but came to the realization she was toxic to my mind/body/soul, and I always felt rotten after spending time with her. My friends on SR and in recovery meetings (AA, SMART) are all much better friends to me than wine, they make me feel so much better, and don't leave me with a huge mess to clean up the next day. I have been completely sober for over a year and I am still cleaning up after that beotch wine...still finding purple speckles from dropped glasses that need to be scrubbed and painted over. Now my friends bring me joy and comfort, not pain and anxiety.
