Day 57. During my sober time, I have realized that, for the first time, I am concentrating on myself in a spiritual way. I have ignored that part of my life for many years. In the past, I was just existing. Marking off the check boxes of life. I feel really good at the moment. I'm trying not to make 90 days of sobriety a destination and taking it day by day. I can't think ahead in that regard. Have a great weekend everyone.

Welcome to Weekenders rustygolf and mcconnth!

Rock Band Camp sounds fantastic!

5.20pm I'm still at work but will be off in a couple of minutes. I will be walking home as the underground rail was hell on earth this morning. Still no sign of these thunderstorms so I will not be getting wet. Broadcasters are calling today Furnace Friday, I don't approve of these alliterative names they give to various weather conditions but that's probably because I'm an old fart.

No older than me, Sao!

A few winters ago over here temperatures were down in the single digits F. Weatherpeople on every channel were crowing about the (drumroll) “polar vortex,” a frightening new one-of-a-kind phenomenon.

All you heard every time you put on the news were alerts about the (drumroll) “polar vortex.” You couldn’t walk down the street without hearing discussion of the thing.

The drama was a major source of eyerolling to me.

It just wouldn’t let up.

So I decided to join in the fray!

I shoehorned the term “polar vortex” into as many conversations as I could—and not merely “polar vortex,” but (gasp) POLAR VORTEX!!!

The meteorologists were at a bit of a loss when spring came.

Since then, perhaps by popular demand, the polar vortex seems to have made a comeback every year!

I keep waiting for the new summer seasonal buzzword!

Evening all, I havenít logged in for a while, itís good to see the thread is busy, and welcome to the new weekenders. Iíve had a hectic week, but booked a holiday to Spain with the family today, we go in four weeks. Then I checked my passport and found that it expired in April🙄. Renewal application is now all taken care of and they say it takes three weeks. Living on the edge indeed. Iím really hoping for a glimpse of the blood moon tonight, doubt it though, itís a bit cloudy here but weíll see. Hope some of us see it!

Welcome to Weekenders Broddeb!

Great news Lilymaz, fingers crossed iro the passport.

Gilmer we even got to hear about the Polar Vortex over here so I can imagine how often weather bulletins would have gone on about it.

Just think how much worse I would be with time on my hands.

It was raining here too but it stopped after a few minutes.

Welcome to the new names here!

dog bag is packed and inspected by both of them, travel toys, check, snacks and food, check,,, take travel toys out, gets yelled at by mom (me), toys back in bag thrown in car.

Now the most momentous of things occurred,,, wait for it,,,, I removed my handy dandy, never went anywhere without it, all in one, pocket size wine cork remover. from my back pack. feels so much lighter now!

And then at night it all gets thrown together into one big overwhelming mess. Most of my dreams aren't even scary or anything. Just overwhelming and intensely uncomfortable. A bit like walking through the crowded shopping streets while having a really bad fever, right before Christmas with all the noise and bright lights right and so many people rushing around, bumping into you and it's just too much and you can't make it stop.

It leaves me feeling so exhausted.

How many hours before going to bed do you stop eating? I will give it a try tonight!
Not to preach, but we all shouldn't eat for 2-3 hours before bed.....3 is better...OK, so I am preaching. This is major, because when we do it our sleep is SO much better, and our digestion as well.
