Trying not to drink during stressful

Times is very hard . Had to take my dog to the emergency vet, having a tween slumber party and getting crap from my ex husband. I so want a bottle of white wine right now !! Day 16 and have to make it to day 17🙏I hope everyone is having a stressful sober weekend!

Skipper. Take a breath!

Wash the dishes.

Take a shower

Go for a walk

Keep your hands in your pockets!

Don’t listen to the urge.

If you choose to drink-
1) you will feel shame tomorrow
2) it won’t change any of the annoying things that are going on right now

Want to PM me?

Tween slumber parties ahh yes, never held one with wine at my disposal. And hope I never hold away again. Would trigger me too! Sorry about your stressful day, could you take a hot bath or go for a bike ride or anything like that? Learning healthy choices myself for stress relief. It’s not easy but someday the little things will become more meaningful to us. Congrats on 17 days!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have done most of these things and now I’m bed watching tv which relaxes me . I’m sure it will be a long night but no wine in the house so no way I can drink!!

Glad to hear it Skipper. It may be a long night but not nearly as long as tomorrow would have been if you had drank. SR is here 24x7 so if you can't sleep we're here to listen if you like.

Great job! Yeah I don't read too many posts about regretting NOT drinking!

Tweens. Then they are teens and you never see them....unless you are feeding them. I saw the Avengers yesterday and they manage to capture teen attitude with zero dialogue with the maturing Groot character. Haha. Funny.

I had an ER trip with my kitty the other day....well almost trip. We were on our way and then decided that he was gonna be fine...turned around. I was grateful that I could drive him there. And also grateful we decided not to over react...albeit midway through over reacting. He's an old guy...ya never know. Devastating but our animals do get sick and they do die. No reason to drink however.
