Day 3
Went to a Sober Recovery meeting in morning met up with my son in afternoon went to AA in evening. Good day.
The main share stated he drank for 20 years, I was kind of shocked when I thought that I have been drinking 35 years. 25 years of which have been abusively. I functioned could go to work everyday. Ok maybe 3 days a week I pissed drunk, 3 days above safe limits and maybe 1 day off in typical week for quarter of a century. That is shocking .

ive known people who drank MUCH longer than that and for some of us the old timers spilled more than we drank
what was paramount for me when new was to listen for the similarities and not the differences
awesome job on demonstrating willingness to got to a meeting

I drank for 37. At the end the two choices, drinking and not drinking both seemed unbearable to me but since I had tried the drinking option over and over with only misery as a result I thought I might as well try not drinking. It's not easy but it is the easier option.
Congratulations on Day 3!
