Hello, Hello, good morning. Late to the party this fine Saturday morning. Was awoken by a text and had to remote into work for a few hours. Now it's off to uncles codo for more packing. It was sold last night! We still have until mid-october to get everrything out. It's dealing with the clutter at home that's driving me mad. No one outside the family want's the stuff and Mrs Dragon is trying to keep as much of it as possible. I've been sending lot's to the salvation army but our garage is still a clutter.

A friend just posted this video on Facebook... made me chuckle and remember Saturday morning cartoons as a child where I actually woke up on a Saturday looking forward to the day and not lying in my bed and self-loathing after a Friday night binge! Enjoy!

I think I am losing my mind already. I started writing a to do list with things on it like -call dad -listen to harry potter audio book -finish jigsaw puzzle -eat cookie -eat pizza -watch documentary.... just so I have the feeling that I am busy and like I achieve some things throughout the day :lol

Thanks everyone for being there and being so lovely. I appreciate all your nice words. It helps to know that I'm not all alone and that people care.

What I wrote into my journal this morning was mostly about how, as a child and throughout my life, I kept finding myself alone in difficult times. My parents were overwhelmed with having a child and their divorce and I often made the experience that people withdraw from me when I ask for help or when I have problems. Which hurts of course cause that's when you need company the most. And now my partner did the same, leaving me when i really needed him. And I think he left me partly because of the situation I'm in, cause it's too much for him.

Kev honey.....do I remember correctly that your BF wrote you a letter...from rehab....or do I have that wrong? I wanted to talk a bit more about that....but first I better check if I have it right.

I am thinking....not asking you to tell me where you live, but maybe just maybe one of us is close to you? Imagine that....a friendly SR that can drive you places. I am probably nowhere near you, and you may not want an Aussie who is still driving on the wrong side of the road in charge.

Sending you so much love.

I know what it feels like to miss someone very badly and want them back....it hurts so much. It takes a while to see this, but it is always a good thing in the end....because there is room in your life for the right person to come along. The one who won't keep walking away when things get tough. ♥♥♥♥

No need to be sorry for your bad mood, we're all just human after all!

Thanks for your words and for the love

That wasn't me who got a letter from rehab. He got sober nearly 6 years ago, before we met. For myself I came to the conclusion that the main issue for us as a couple was that we both are stress-heads and can get into phases where we feel extremely stressed just by every day life. And on top of that we can't distance ourselves enough from our partner's problems, making them our own and wasting all our time, energy and focus on trying to make the other one solve their problems, which then leaves us feel drained, exhausted and like we are giving so much without it being appreciated. And also by focusing so much on our partner's problems, we forget to take care of ourselves or simply don't find the time and energy for it. I think has done this even more than me but I also know that I tend to do that.

So right now I think he's back at feeling like he's given so much and his tank is empty which is why he can't even be there for me a little bit right now, cause he wouldn't be able to keep a healthy distance but feel emotionally overwhelmed by my suffering.

I don't know if anyone on here lives close enough, I'm far away in Germany....

I made it through the hell of withdrawal and somehow I will make it through the next 13 days too!

Oh and thanks for the link to that puzzle, bimini! It was fun but also reminded me of my ex / partner (it feels so wrong to call him ex!), we spend our summer vacations on the Greek islands and it was so lovely each time....

Aww, Kev.

Breakups suck. You'll get through this, though. It takes time, and you'll make it through.

I'm single by choice, but I have worked through a lot of abandonment issues and it's a process. You're not going crazy, just a lot going on with you right now. It's going to be better soon.

Comedies? Do you have Netflix?

Thanks bimini I still hope to have children one day so I don't want to give up on relationships yet. It's difficult for me too though, I can't keep a healthy distance myself when it comes to other's problems. I'm working on it though and I think I made a tiny bit of progress already.

I still have a 3 months voucher for netflix that my "ex" gave me as part of my birthday present which I haven't used yet. (It's really that EVERYTHING reminds me of him at the moment...)

Do you have any recommendations when it comes to series? I don't like too much action and no horror or constant heavy drama (have enough of that in my life :lol ), other than that I'm open for all kinds of suggestions

Saoutchik Towers is currently the target of an idiot with one of those laser pointers. Hopefully he'll get bored soon (it's bound to be a he) It's really easy to see were he is pointing it from.

Hi everyone Sun morning here and a beautiful day for the beach

Kev how about watching Big Little Lies?
Also, I love this great post from Venus ❤️
This is totally true! Both because it’s how I feel now and because it’s just what I needed to hear when my last relationship imploded! Back then I just couldn’t see it, but I’m now in such a great relationship with a wonderful man ❤️ and I can see that I had to let go of the past, no matter how painful that was to do, before I could move into my amazing future ❤️

It sound like i could like that series, thanks for the suggestion! My roomie has an HBO account she said I could use.

I just wanted to post that it's about bed time for me and that I still feel extremely depressed and miss him so much... but after reading your post i feel a little less alone and lost. Thank you so much

I still miss talking to him. He and I have so much in common, interests, hobbies, how we see life, morals, our recovery, the alcoholism, depression, anxiety,... I don't have other people around me I can relate to as much, not even in AA here. It's such a gift to have all you wonderful people on here who understand and who can relate.
Part of me still hold on to him though and still wants to fight for a future with him. I guess it will take time to get ready to let go. It always felt like we were meant for each other. Just that we might not be ready for a relationship yet.

Also life has the strangest coincidences sometimes. I was chatting to someone for a few hours on here today and half way through it turns out we're living in the same city and may have even seen each other at meetings.

I will say good night now and a huge thank you to all you amazing souls on here! Much love!

Well, I did my part yesterday and handed off to the consultants. My text this morning was from them asking to start from scratch as something got screwed up. So, rolled it all back and did my part all over. It's been quiet, no news is good news.

I am more of a romantic comedy guy so ones I have been watching include Love, Togetherness, and New Girl. (I never watched New Girl on Fox and only started watching it because I found out it did NOT have a laugh track/studio audience. Very happy I did.)

I really connected with "Love" because it is about someone with addiction issues then eventually goes through recovery. There is definitely drama and uncomfortable moments (nudity, sex scenes, conflict) but it is mostly light hearted and funny.

So sorry for your break-up!
