One-Year
 

Today, one year ago, I took my last drink. No so-called rockbottom or ultimatums.. I woke-up and decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. So, after 14 years of almost daily drinking, countless stitches on my legs, a shattered left ulna bone (that required two surgeries), ruined relationships, self-humiliations etc... I stopped. Just the thought of shooting back shots of vodka still makes me physically gag.

Tomorrow marks one-year since my day one. As much as alcohol sickens me - I can’t believe that I’ve made it this far.

I’ve stayed sober through three vacations, one nearly career-ending work experience (not alcohol related) and numerous crap days sprinkled in between.

I’m so very thankful for this site and the support I’ve received from so many of you. Xoxo
