Im grateful that I've found SR because this is the only place I can be myself and speak freely. My cokeman never came had to go with the last resort.. I swear I really don't wanna do drugs anymore but once my mind is made up there's no turning back. Smh... I'm tired of everything, I'm just tired

once my mind is made up there's no turning back.
the turning point for me was in not believing thoughts like that anymore.

sure it's hard and sure it's not pleasant to stop that rush of anticipation - but I had to stop thinking about the immediate gratification and thing about things more long term.

You can get through cravings...they will die and fade away - and every time you do that and get through without using, it gets a little easier next time.

You called your sponsor I know, but sounds like you might need a few more tools in your toolbox?

Hi 914,

Started weed and alcohol when I was 16.
Controlled it more or less then I didnt. Couldnt get enough of it till lung trouble.
Used to have seeds sprouting in jars with wet cotton wool then my own little plantation in the garden.
Later on i started experimenting with coke and party pills.
I had zero control. I am a pure addict.

If i start something i will not stop, its simple as.

Dont exactly know what you mean by this but I hope you stay clean "My cokeman never came had to go with the last resort..."

D said to me years ago you have the power to control your thinking.
Someone asks you to place your hand and leave it in a hot burning fire because you will like it, will you do it, no you decide not to.
Today I have accepted after 20 years of binges and blackouts that I can control myself. I have accepted that if I drink the first drink i wont stop.

In the end for me drugs just lost their appeal and I was full fledged Alco drinking into oblivion lasting weeks.

Stopping is the easy part, staying stopped takes the work.
But everyone can do it. You too.
Stay in control.
