I want to welcome anyone new to SR and new to this thread.
Weekends can be a tough time, and that's what this thread is about - support.

Hi everyone 
I was in a bit of a funk earlier today and it seems like there was a bit of funkiness going around, like a funk virus or something perhaps?
I really hope everyone else is feeling a bit better now. Manta how’re you doing? I really admire you sticking it out through all of those challenging situations.
I’m glad to say I’ve snapped out of my funk just in time for another weekend thanks to all you amazing people on SR, it means so much to know we’re not doing this alone ❤️
So there’s no plan for work trips next to scary liquor stores and no drinking partying house guests this weekend thank goodness! I don’t think I could deal with another weekend like that straight after the last one lol
A quiet weekend ahead so I can just poke around at home and recharge my batteries with some me time...

Hey Vman/Willow, thanks for asking! I am staying another 30 days, took me over 3 weeks to actually accept my way doesn’t work lol. It’s challenging everyday, emotions are up and down many times a day but I am starting to make real inroads to changing my thinking and have grown a lot since I have been here.
My current homework from my counsellor is to tackle my trust issues and the constant feeling no-one likes me so I had to pick 5 people I have warmed to and book a 30 minute session to talk about how it makes me feel, what behaviours I take on when I feel this way and what goes through my head. I’ll get feedback from each of them and it will be honest and challenge my thinking. First one in 20 minutes, bit scary but I am just going to do as I am told from now on haha!

sorry you've been having a bit of a bumpy ride, but every time you get through something challenging, it reinforces the learning that you can get through things without reaching for a drink. sitting with unpleasant feelings can be uncomfortable, but the sky doesn't fall, the feelings pass, & while they're passing we can bear them without having to change how we feel with alcohol.
