Morning all,

Bit of a late night which resulted in a late morning rise and shine. We bought my late uncles Chrysler 300 touring sedan and brought it home last night. It's got bells on it's whistles, hence the late night playing with the thing.

Thanks! I've been keeping the local grocery/ice sellers in business. It may be a better solution. It's pretty, too.

Ugh. Still playing with it. I'm so codie that I feel bad for having to go back there - again - and ask for another one. Again. Like it's my fault or something. 'Course it's not really my fault they don't send repairmen, but instead send out the next box in line without proper testing or whatever...and the poor delivery guys get to navigate the three flights of steps, and my irritation. I tried to be all zen about it, but two huge young guys who want to keep it moving and me wanting a working fridge...

The refrigerator saga of 2018.....what will happen?
Of course bim will end up with a perfect fridge, but what will happen in the interim....it is fascinating this whole pop it in the box and let the customer do the quality assurance....they actually figure in the return costs and it is way cheaper than actually having a quality control person full-time....hmm.

Boy did I have fun with my treadmill delivery. It is a gym-sized treadmill. One delivery guy and me....really??? I did manage to help Nick get it up the stairs which was fairly well, heavy.

And you would not believe how badly I beat myself up for buying a treadmill that is too big. Ha. It is fantastic!!!!

My parents, who were born in 1918 and 1924, called the refrigerator an icebox till the day they died!

In all seriousness my fridge howled like a banshee for a few months and then I moved and ..it stopped howling like a banshee.

Either it really likes this place or something moved when it got transported. Hope you find a solution Bim

My Grandmother was born in 1910 and grew up with one of these in the outback

it's covered with hessian bags - potato sacks or whatever - you put water into a tray on top - capillary action draws the water into the hessian bags and evaporation does the rest, cooling the interior.

Best hung up high to catch a breeze.

Probably wouldn't keep your ice cream cold but most things would last longer that way.

The screeching, the guys said it could have been due to uneven floors.

But I had another refrigerator here for 30 years and it never screeched...so I am not willing to accept that as an excuse.

If it is uneven floorboards then you should be able to fix that with a shim. If you have a level tool, you can check if your fridge is on a flat surface or not and make adjustments with shims. Not cool enough however needs a pro to fix/ replace so that does not matter.

That's great news Manta! I was in a bit of a funk myself and had a shower, watered flowers and for some reason decided to weed the shaded area of our mulch beds. I would have preferred some "pampering" but the productivity seemed to pull out the bad mood....hopefully from the roots!!Coffee number 2 then I need to get some out of the house stuff done before KICKOFF. Let's GO ENGLAND!

At the risk of alienating all of the world cup followers on this thread, I have a question, I googled who was left playing, as this seems to be taking as long as our baseball world series playoffs, (which lasts it seems for months). The winner of todays match, England and Croatia, plays France for the title,,, right? and the loser plays Belgium for third place,,, is that right?
