I think out of the last 25 Fourth of July’s have only had one or two where I did not drink .

Today is day number 35 for me . Got through the weekend with my ABF drinking with his buddy I left early .

With the United States celebrating drunkenness and alcohol abuse and illegal use of fireworks, it is difficult to get to sleep between missing an old habit, horrible as it was, and still fighting insomnia once in a while .

Anyone else want to share your struggles with holidays over the Fourth of July ?

I don't struggle with holidays anymore. I am just glad to be spending them sober so I'll wake up the next day feeling good, not awful and ashamed.

Sobriety gets better, and easier, the longer you stay sober. :)

Thanks least... how long since you decided to stop permanently?
