All you have to do is not drink. The rest of life gets worked out, for good or bad or typically something in between.

Stay strong. Thoughts are with you.
The person who taught me that was Dee, he says that sobriety comes first and the rest of "life" will fall into place, and I agree with that.

So yeah, it sucks that MN is like GA. I added this to the convo bc most people seemed to be saying how wrong, etc your firing was- I just didn't want that to fuel any self-pity you might have, or doubts about what you need to do now for permanent sobriety.

Glad you made it back and have another chance. I know that I wouldn't have one if I ever drink again, so it is something I know you can do - and maintain- again with this chance.

My God ... really? Wow. That's amazing to know.

Jeff, really glad you're feeling a little better, and thanks August for clarifying the legal issue.

^^No problem- as an alcoholic, I had this reality (in TN as well, for example) several times when I was fired (from a restaurant) for something technically besides drinking, but almost each of the (three?) times I can see that the reason they gave was in two of the cases related to behaviors I had because I was indeed drinking.

I've dealt w a lot of job stress, change, decisions and I know how difficult it is (financially, emotionally, ego wise, everything!) so I definitely empathize, Jeff.

Rooting for you.
