Weekender Thread 28th June to 2nd July 2018
Hi STDragon.
Gilmer and Willow, thanks for your insperational posts🙂. Vman, ribs on the grill on a bright sunny day don’t sound even half bad! I plan to grill (or as they say here “braai”) some home marinated chicken this evening. Maybe not the most helpful post, but there you have it!

Welcome to Weekenders LoveHateWhine. Check in as often as you like.
For all you Scandinavian noir lovers out there it began for me with Sarah Lund and her knitted jumper in The Killing. I enjoyed "Trapped" very much as well.
The World Cup returns today. I was still drinking when the event was last held in Brazil in 2014 and consequently I do not remember a whole lot about it. This time things will be different.

When I first joined SR and spoke to an addiction counsellor about the site she said, quote unquote: "how do you know any of these people are real?"
Well, I married one of these real people.
Lovely to see you.....stick close and we will get through this weekend together.
I'm the CK/Vman fan club.
Willow said it! Sober Saturday morning never gets old.
Go France. (Are we still talking World Cup? That's football, eh? )
Big breakfast today...steak, omelet, toast, hashbrowns from the "bb" kitchen. Eventually. I'm still on coffee.

Just now something so tiny and insignificant really made me smile. It is my co-worker's birthday today so I popped to the shops in my split and bought her £20 worth of presents because she deserves to be spoiled!
I only have £25 cash left until tomorrow until we get paid for this month, the £25 cash was tips for June for the kitchen which I was given on Thursday. Now; if I was still drinking, that £25 would be gone by now...and I would have no money to buy my lovely friend her presents and treat her on her birthday because I had poured poison down my neck.
As silly as it may be it made me feel SO good and I had a little warm glow while walking around the supermarket. I bought her a little presecco gift set, and it felt soooooooo weird being in the alcohol aisle and buying NOTHING for myself
Wasn't even tempted, the glow of treating my friend instead of indulging in my selfish addiction felt better than the buzz of booze
Happy Saturday, all!
