Good morning to all the weekenders.
It's time to buckle up and first gear in to Sunday.
Have to let you all know that me tomatoes made it and are now very happy (I would say thriving)
I cut my own hair yesterday with my Remington and I look odd now. Have to do damage control today.

Later folks.

Thanks Vman. In summer I also grow tomatoes, but being winter I have to stick to the less glamorous stuff like spinach and Swiss chard. I have a few seedlings that will be transplanted today. Hoping no one gets into your hair today!

Have a great Sunday, weekenders!

Cheers Captain.

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday : do not cut your hair with a trimmer, t-shirtless, wearing sun cream.

You have a great day too.

I would have thought just "do not cut your hair" was enough of a lesson here

thanks for that Vinny, almost spat tea over my keyboard

Welcome to Weekenders Quitnow4!

sfos that is a a hair raising story, i'm glad you had the sense (ie were sober) to stay out of it. If you drink at work things like that are always a possibility and you can ruin a career in a day if it goes badly. It occurred to me while reading it that I am glad I did not work evenings or I would have been in real trouble.

VMan, yours was also a hair raising story It could have been worse, clippers and alcohol are an interesting combo.

I used to give myself horrendous hair cuts when I drank.
My present choice is a number 1 and 3 clipper. Cannot go wrong.

Sky- a scary scenario. I know/knew a few people who turned into Mr Hyde with booze, my deceased bro being one of them. Good you have the sense to leave well alone- and think of your own safety.

Yesterday I was using a chain saw to cut some logs for the fireplace. It then occurred to me that on a few past occasions I had no qualms doing that after a few drinks! I looked at my hands and feet and grinned.

So many great insights! Thank you a lot.

Vinny - Maybe you can say that you are doing your best to catch up with fancy hairstyles of the World Cup players?))

Hope you all have a great day weekenders.

I think sobriety is bringing forgetfulness to me.
This morning in the shower big blob of shampoo in to the hands then into the dry hair... umm.?

For me it's time to get off the mobile before Mrs vman gets reel peeved. There's washing to be hung out and a 5 year old to be showered.

See you all tonight.

Happy Sunday everyone! Third day waking up without a hangover. Already the puffy bags I used to have under my eyes on waking have almost gone! My face feels so much softer too.

My body clock is a little screwy, even though I am tired, I have trouble falling asleep since I quit. I guess my body is adjusting to not having this drug that caused me to pass out. Still so nice to look in the mirror and not be horrified by the size and darkness of the eye bags.

Was also nice to wake up in the morning and have a raging thirst, dry mouth and a little headache, but that is purely because it was already 18c at 8am. After drinking a half pint of orange squash while waiting for the kettle to boil it was gone. No nausea, no headache, dizziness or stomach spasms from wanting to throw up.

Feels SO GOOD! Enjoy your day, everyone!

I've just realized that exactly the half of 2018 is gone.

The pace of time makes me feel panicking.

I've been running through skydiving days in my head since yesterday. Some very good and a couple not so good memories. That's what happens when you throw an alcoholic in to a high-octane sport. In the 70s. The male/female ratio was 10 to 1, too. Only a couple regrets. It was a blast. Would do again.

So many good posts over night. Willow, I think I worked in that same restaurant. I wasn't drinking for most of it. It's a soap opera when you're sober. Well done.

Good to hear from you, Petals. I thought of you yesterday.

Sunday prayers for the still suffering alcoholics.

Good Morning, weekenders! Happy Sunday. Didn't get a chance to check in here yesterday but seeing that I am up very early this morning, thought I'd pop in and say hello!

It is so nice to wake up without a hangover and the only headache I have is that I slept "too hard" as my dear grandmother used to say. Anyone experience that? Slept so well you have a slight headache in the morning? I can recall telling her that in the past, and she would say it is because I "slept too hard." I sure do miss her. She would have been 100 years old this year!!!

Anyway, trying to stay cool here in the Northeast US. We are in the midst of a major heatwave and it is brutal.

Hope all have a good day!
