About 10+ yrs ago I went to the emergency room (it's a small satellite one) in my town. My BAC was 3.0 yet I was able to walk/talk. Amazed the admitting nurse who said I should be in a coma. Guess I drank a lot then. Anyway, their detox was me laying in the ER room with a thin sheet, no one checking on me all night and then next morning when hubby asked for a detox they said no rooms available but I could stay as a patient at the hospital. Went home & detoxed on my own.
Fast forward 5 yrs ago. Drank too much and got horrible anxiety that I thought I was having a heart attack. Same hospital. Did x-rays, blood work & they sent me home 1 hr later. I went to my DR (he knows I have a drinking problem) and was shocked that they didn't give me anything. He prescribed lorazapam.

So I know how you feel about going. But anything is worth a try when it comes to sobriety.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I'm sure he understands.

Know we're behind you-you are not alone. Sending you positive energy, positive thoughts.
