Unbelievably Germany, the holders, are out of the WC. Sad for their supporters, but brilliant to see other countries doing do well.
Thank-you for your encouraging post to everyone Gilmer. My life is simple and quiet - but love sport.

20 songs from the Stones! It's good to see that they can still put in a shift.
It sounds as if you're doing well MantaLady.
I have just looked at the football score on my monitor, Germany are out after losing to South Korea. Crivens!

Hi, lovely weekenders.
Thank you for checking up on me.
Vinny - I am ok, just the World Cup demands too much attention) If seriously, got caught up between job, dentist, workouts and, yes, the World Cup.
The concert sounds terrific, glad you had a great time.
Venus - Root canal still gives me lot of grief but I pureed my food and getting along.
Sao - I just got from from and saw the score Southe Korea vs Germany. I need to see the replay!
Trach - I can volunteer to explain the string theory)
And big Hi to everyone.
P.S. I think we need to work on being more open to new perceptions of the reality. I hoped we will progress to starting weekend on Monday at some point

Thanks Gilmer! The timeline is more about saying when I was x age this situation happened to me and made me feel x way so we are not necessarily encouraged to write about what we did when drinking but what happened to us before it became a problem. So something I am ok sharing here is that I have to write about how I felt when my Dad tried to commit suicide when I was 11, these are painful memories and ones I am very reluctant to revisit as I am scared of the pain it will bring up. I have blocked it out for so long and never really took time to acknowledge those feelings. I don’t know if that is one of the reasons I drink now I just know it happened.
What a traumatizing memory; I cannot imagine.
I hope that by speaking of it, you can release the pain and trauma, and find a safe place for the memory.
We are always here for you.
Thanks for the version of the thread, Dee.
PJ, ooooo, winter-kissed Hills - sounds lovely.
Dragon, clean-out is a true endeavor; the spackeling and painting can be a nightmare. I learned a trick a long time ago; if the hole is tint, a tiny dab of white toothpaste can often fill and smooth the area. Spend time on those memories and enjoy them. They may smooth the rough edges of your sorrow.
Hi, Gilmer, Sao, Bim, trachs and Liza

Vinny, the concert sounded fantastic. Asterisk Tonk Woman and Jumpin’ Jack Flash were my favorites.
Hi, MidnightBlue, Bonnefor and Suze
I spent the morning watching a family of Sandhill Cranes teach their two babies to talk. First the Dad speaks, then the Mom and then the babies practically in unison. The babies heads have started to turn red so I am guessing that they are almost ready to go off on their own.
I will miss seeing them as a family unit. The babies were so adorably fuzzy and clumsy in the beginning.
MB, hope your pain is soon history.
Have a wonderful day, all.

The nice thing about being multi-ethnic is ...when your team (Germany) fails you, you can quickly cling to a different line of your roots and jump on another band wagon...Let's Go England !
Manta that sounds very difficult. I hope it leads to something healing in the end.

Venus, dear, I will give you a full update once it's clear who is going to play-off.
If I am not mistakes Australia hasn't played her last group match yet. But I think its chances to get into play-off are quite slim.
I may fall asleep right after the match is over.
So, I am still here, just lost in the World Cup)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Aussies lost to Peru 0-2 i'm afraid. It was always going to be a tough group. At least Paddington Bear will have enjoyed the result.
MantaLady that must have been really tough so I hope this works for you.
Love the description of the Cranes Leigh.
I am cooking enough food for tonight and tomorrow - England play Belgium at the rather civilised time of 7.00 pm London time so I will not have time to cook. Hercule Poirot has uncovered a weakness in the England defence. Probably.
