52 Days Sober, whats good for Anxiety, Depression?
I am 52 Days Sober, whats good for Anxiety, Depression?
I find that i am anxious, depressed, worrying for no reason, unable to relax.
Just feeling uneasy, not sleeping well, overall uncomfortable.
The thought of drinking does pop-up, but when i think it through, play the tape forward, i understand that drinking is not the answer.
What has worked for you in sobriety?

Gaba!

Look for it in the single amino acid section of any vitamin shop. Inexpensive, naturally occurring, but drinking wears down its production which really provokes anxiety.

For me it was a combination of different things together. Mediation, yoga, eating regularly And seeing CBT therapist. My anxiety was at a 10/10 the first 12 months of sobriety and now it hardly bothers me at all lol. Amazing how staying sober and doing the right things can change everthing.

Regular exercise is amazing. If you aren't active just start small. Truly the best medicine for both anxiety and depression.
Talk therapy. And if you can find someone you can talk and walk with.....the best!

I throw everything at myself to keep busy.
fitness, group activities, hobbies, extra working hours, House or work organisation. I am single with no wife or kids so i seem to have a lot of time on my hands for my mind to eat me up.
I find the busy list never stops, which is good because it means i don't stop until i get to bed.

I will admit I take a pill for anxiety. I have a naturally busy, occasionally chaotic life. Like every other family
I recently started hypnosis sessions. I fall asleep meditating and I am not convinced I don't fall asleep instead of being hypnotized, but it is an hour of peace a week lol. The hypnotism is to learn to do it myself as a way of centering.
