Staying sober

Hi everyone. Well I'm doing well. Sticking to sobriety I haven't drank in a while. I woke up today and had my cereal and decided since the weather is amazing here in Ireland that we would go to the beach with the dogs. It's a good hour and a half drive but I'm sure it will be worth it. The only real issues I'm having is I have severe anxiety. It's so bad. I went to my doctor and she said to come back if it hasn't improved. I don't know how to get rid of it and I'm reluctant to take medication

Hey Lola,

Are you eating well and doing much exercise at the moment?

Anything in your life causing you stress you can identify?

How long have you been sober?

I'm sober about a month now. There's nothing I can put my finger on I'm just feeling so stressed and anxious. I'm eating generally well i'v been diagnosed with an incurable condition called interstitial cystitis and it has caused alot of stress I suppose that may be the problem

I think the beach is a great idea! It's understandable that you have some health anxiety right now - I hope you find a way to live peacefully with your new diagnosis.

A month sober is awesome! For what it's worth I was nowhere near not-anxious at one month. It took several months. Stay busy, do get some exercise - and enjoy the natural beauty today. You'll be so glad you did! Report back and tell us what you saw. :)
