Day 7
Day 7
Day 7 here! I'm wondering about physical changes people have noticed and how long until you started noticing. Specifically, my BP was 142/190 a few weeks ago. Wondering if this will come down, and by how much.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks, guys.
It took about a week for mine to come down to normal. I went from a steady 160/95 to 110/70.
190/142 is extremely dangerous. I'd recommend seeing a doctor ASAP. You may have hypertension that is not related to alcohol.

As the others have said, there's no set formula to predict your sober blood pressure. It will revert to whatever is normal for you, but "normal" in this sense can span quite a range.
Another option is that many drug stores will have blood pressure kiosks with automatic cuffs. You can try about 10 readings with those to get a sense of where your BP runs. Your doctor's office will be able to give you a more accurate reading though; best to see your doctor if you're concerned.
Congratulations on Day 7!

Stopping drinking will probably help as will embracing a sensible diet and exercise, unless, as others have suggested, there's another cause.
I realise that without insurance it's expensive, but maybe you could set aside the money you'd usually spend on booze to go see someone?
