Day 3

I really want to quit alcohol and cigarettes at the same time but something has to give. Im at work right now and im sooooo angry and agitated.. im snapping at everyone. I dont feel its the alcohol withdrawals but the cigarettes. Last night i couldnt sleep and was so agitated i couldnt lay still. I finally broke down and bummed a smoke from my son, smoked, then instantly fell asleep. I woke up another day sober but feel awlful for smoking. Butttttt at this point I think i need to work on quitting smoking after a few months of quitting alcohol lol

Good to see you, tonisherrell.

Well done on Day 3.

I agree that alcohol abstinence is the more important of the two for now. I have never smoked but I can’t imagine how difficult doing both simultaneously would be.

Stay close, toni.

Congratulations on three days.
I've been sober over nine years now, and am still finding hard to quit smoking.
I use a stop smoking aid and it works great. I'm still worried about when I stop using them, but I feel pretty good about quitting.
It's hard to stop, no doubt about that.
Best to you.

Day 3 is great, Toni!

If quitting both alcohol and cigarettes at the same time isn't working for you, then you're doing the right thing. Once you feel more comfortable in your sobriety, then you can tackle cigarettes.

I agree. But first you have to get a few months sober. What's been the difficulty? And how can we help?
