Day 5 and last two days felt

Emotional, don't know why, but I am sure it won't last too long, I have been watching Russel brand videos about addiction and they are very interesting, have a good day everyone

Yes, emotions are in turmoil in early recovery.

A big part of moving forward with sobriety is accepting our emotions. No longer running from them and into the bottle.

Yeah, I call early recovery the rollercoaster. One day you’re up, next you’re down, and in between you’ll get choked up easily and cry at the drop of a hat. It sucks.

Basically it’s because our brain chemistry is fried. It’ll take a while to balance out.

I was very emotional in the early weeks of my recovery. I had a lot of guilt and shame to deal with and I didn't really know how to manage emotions. Each day you get through sober, Mummy, will make the next day a bit easier.

Day five is awesome, Mummy. I remember saying, "I want to crawl out of my own skin!" in that first month - and I felt like that quite a bit.

It settles down. Keep doing the next right thing.

You could even change "day" to "hour" at times.

Good job on day 5, Mummy. I was a mess emotionally in early sobriety. It will get better--just keep pushing through and staying sober. I'm rooting for you.
