When I got home I realized I forgot to throw out some old food (garbage collection day is Thursdays). I also missed out on a great one day only sale, I was going to buy a preasure washer.

I was in an angry mood all day and all evening.

So last night I had this dream where I was trying my hardest to punch a guy in the nose. Had him pinned to floor and at my mercy, but every time I took a swing my arm would seize up on the way down. No matter how much I wanted to cause him pain, I just could not follow thru with the punch.

I'm sure this is a manifistation of my frusterating day yesterday.

Today is a new day, and I want to enjoy it. I'm in a better mood now, tho probably a bit fragaile so I'm gonna watch my step today and take things slowly and mindfully.

Have a great Friday weekenders!
I am really sorry for your bad day, Dragon.

I think that your dream was telling what we already know; you are a really good man and would never hurt a soul.

Sending you love, friend.

Thank you bim.

5.59pm here and the weekend proper has now begun for me. Friday evenings in high summer can be really tough on us abstainers as it seems like EVERYONE is enjoying themselves with a few drinks and made all the more difficult when a global sporting event is taking place. But that is a self serving illusion as huge numbers of people just don't drink for a variety of reasons. We who have no off buttons need to think long and hard before joining any booze centered social events.

Sadly I have to miss joining my friends tonight as the conditions under which I would be meeting them are too alcohol convivial - outdoors on a beautiful evening, a great venue and a World Cup on a big screen. It is tough but I value my sobriety more. I might go Sunday lunchtime for the England game as lunchtime is easier for me to be around alcohol without wanting it but I will play it by ear.

I skipped out of work early before anyone could change their mind about anything. My train was packed.

Nigeria woke up in the second half and made it while worth watching.

Interesting, initially I didn't care much about the world cup and and missed first couple of days.

But, I think, Sao and Vman re-ignited my interest.

And just look at me now.

Thank you MB.

I decided to get a classic British staple on the way home - Fish and Chips (Cod) 8 including a fizzy water. Great value by London standards. Looks good too!

mmmm I have cod and chips every Friday...I have coleslaw with mine (cabbage/carrots shredded with dressing.)

It's a tradition for me. Mine is $9, US. No train involved. If I go early, no one is drinking yet. Friday for me is laundry day - I'm usually in the house for the night by 7PM.

People are moving in to the condo next door. I'm crossing fingers that they don't do the usual damage to the building/landings/steps and outdoor lighting.

MMMMSao...that looks awesome...as I munch my raw veggies.

MB...could anything be cuter than the genuine joy the Nigerians displayed when they scored? They were so happy... without the boastful chest thumping in your face rituals displayed by many pro sportsmen. They won me over. Glad they won and glad I saw the goals.

Thanks for the amazing cake and a little AC/DC Leigh!

Looks great, Sao.

Now I crave some fish!

Hi, Leigh and Bim.

Lizajane - Though Iceland has a lot of cuties I too was charmed by Nigerian team.

Ok. Serbia vs Switzerland.

Considering all the surprises at this World Cup, I am looking forward to any game.

Hello Weekenders!

Nothing exciting here.

Chaperoning a school trip today, putting hay in, housecleaning tomorrow and since the whole weekend is calling for rain, fishing.

We eat root vegetables.....we just don't talk about the root vegetables.

Watched a great deal of the World Cup in my life but I don't have any guys around here who are into it so I don't have a team in this...hmmm...must see who is left.

EDIT: Looks as though Australia is still in it? Is that right?
Don't know how it works though....elimination?

Double edit.....I just realised how sexist that is....but funnily enough I have never known a single Australian female who likes soccer. In my age group anyway. I'm sure there are many girls playing it now...

Only "sport" I like watching is Nascar. Baseball, but only at the stadium.

Does that make me redneck? Well I was raised in Florida - but more in the civilized city than the back-woods.

Not that there's anything wrong with back woods... trach.

oooh edit to say...America's Cup. So I guess I'm an elitist redneck?
