Hi, weekenders.

I am finally back from the dentist. Root canals job took two hours and my dentist said that, no joke, he haven't had such a complicated case in years.

Yep, I am a tough cookie overall

Missed the first half of Russia vs Urugvay and seems to miss all the fun.

But maybe they will surprise me though).

Hungry, need some food ASAP.

YEAH! SNUF!!

World Cup this morning Uruguay V Russia...very ugly soccer/football match. Got my ab exercises in while watching. The dramatic aches, pains, and dives are still pretty good however.

Greetings, all!

Manta, it is great to her from and to hear that you are doing well.

MB, glad to hear that your root canals were completed; yeah, you've got the right stuff!

Suze, I love Grover (and Snuffles, too) but I have never seen that book!

My husband took the car for another quote this morning; a slightly lower quote at $3,900+. He said, though, that he could see the beginnings of other electrical problems and that he, personally, would advise the current repair given the seeds of other problems.

We found a few second hand cars with remaining warranty time so we will look at those later.

Have a lovely day, friends.

Good for you Snufkin. I am old enough to remember the old Moomins tv series from the 1970s

Good to see you MantaLady!

Keep looking Leigh, research and persistence really pays dividends when it comes to cars.

Bad luck at the football today MB. Idid not see the game as I was at work, I will catch the highlights later. Well done for enduring the dentist, at least it is out of the way.

BTW some trivia: Brazil v Uraguay was the 1950 World Cup Final at the newly opened Maracana Stadium. The official attendance was 199,854.

Highlights for me too later. Still in shock from England's win yesterday.
There is some Oscar winning acting going on for sure. I think they should have some lady referees. Had one called Mrs Savage - and she was. Along the lines of stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about. If I was the ref I would send them all off. That might spoil the game though!
And the hairstyles wow!

My (old) refrigerator has fixed itself - sort of. I cleaned behind it and turned it as cold as it will go, and took stuff away from the vents inside, and now it's working - but not sure how long I can expect a 33 YO refrigerator to keep working, and I'm not sure it's as cold as it is supposed to be. Now I can't decide if I want to cancel the delivery tomorrow.

Indecisiveness...anyone else?

I'm not really going to cancel the new one. It's time.

Jeebus, what a bunch o' Buyer's Remorse, though. The new one isn't the right color (couldn't find one to match my 1985 kitchen.)

Overthink much?

I’d still get the new fridge... The old one might work for two years or two days, you never know. But that’s just me... and I’m quite wasteful with money!

I think it's me who is the goose here snuf....I would cancel the delivery and the old one would promptly die. I am not very practical sometimes....

And how are you lovely one???

I'm sure you could get some lovely avocado paint for your new fridge Bim - that colour was very 80's iirc

I LOVE that retro kitchen look.....love love love....I have the Delonghi Icona Retro range....some of it, and my new Russell Hobbs kettle is retro gorgeous....and very nice with avocado I think.

And they have every colour imaginable now in toasters and such....fun.
They are just all too expensive.

Well. You guys are as indecisive as me. Maybe not individually - but as a collective.

And no, my kitchen is 80s Almond, not Avocado. New fridge is white. THE HORROR.

New fridge is clean, too. And the gasket doesn't need to be replaced. And it has sliders on the feet so I can clean behind it. Can't move my old one without a dolly - which - uh - didn't happen. . . ever.

No tv coverage of the games for me at the moment, so keeping an eye on two live feeds from the UK Guardian...
Exciting stuff!

I would go with the new fridge, Bim. Almond was a great color; we had it in our first house. Avocado and Harvest Gold rocked the late 60s and early 70s. My parents had avocado appliances and fruit wallpaper with harvest gold and avocado colors on the kitchen walls.
