You had the courage to send and email
asking for help. Don't stop there. To admit
you can't do this by yourself shows huge
strength within you.

You are on your way with a small step
towards achieving a sober life addiction
free.

You are in my thoughts and prayers and
remember you are not alone nor will be.

If you don't hear back from them
be sure to contact them again.

My folks called for me without me
even knowing about it. Before I knew
it, officers were at my home to take
me in to the hospital because I wasn't
willing to go with my family.

That was the most humiliating experience
I went thru at the end of my drinking career.
However, I had to go thru it to get me to
where I am today. Some 27 yrs of one days
sober at a time.

With you going out the other day to
find alcohol and not remember what
happened. Well, thank God you are
home right now safe and ALIVE.

I hope not but, there may not be a next time.

If you don't hear back from them,
use the phone and talk to someone
and let them know that you need
help. Today. Right Now.

I'm glad you took that action today, Mummy. This can be the beginning of your sobriety.

You have a lot of work ahead of you with
small steps taken at a time. Stay in the moment
and don't get too far ahead of yourself because
that time hasn't happened yet.

All you have is right here right now
where you will sleep sober tonight
and be ready to get on the phone
tomorrow, which is a plan.

You say you are afraid. Don't fear a life of sobriety, its quite wonderful. If you need outside help, so be it. I respect that you understand you are not able to do it by yourself and that's totally fine.

There are many who have felt the same
way as you. Afraid to ask for help. Many
of them, it's was too late and its so sad.

SR has been behind you supporting you
giving you suggestions and guidance,
now you have finally realized that
you need more help outside SR.

And you took that step.

I didn't have SR back in 1990 when
I got sober and entered recovery. So,
I had to rely on face to face meetings
after rehab. Eventually I found SR and
added it to my recovery program as
an extra support which has been great.
