Oddly, running was a trigger, I would stupidly grab a beer or two the second I walked in from a run. I mean, how moronic eh?

Gooood morning.

Calmself, way to dodge that chatter. I had an answer for it, still do: "Thanks for piping up. I don't drink - no matter what." It sounds like you are trying that, good deal. Have you read the AVRT thread? It's all about the method that coined the "AV (Addictive Voice)." It's in the Secular section on this site along with a lot of other great threads:

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...ined-long.html (AVRT Explained (long))

So, the voice doesn't go away completely - drinking was my go-to; it was an automatic answer to life for a long time. I have made peace with it. I'm 4+ years into this continuous sober time and it still peeps now and then: but it has no power. It's a paper tiger. The trick is learning to dismiss it - to shut it down without angst.

Just another thought that I'm not going to act upon, like so many other randomly pulled thoughts throughout the day.

Dragon ~ I would be telling the 19 year old that if he wants to eat he needs to clean that bathroom, end of story.
I am presuming your son is your younger child.....

Hi gang, that is good thinking by Mrs Dragon. Chillie is one of those dishes you can adapt to taste.

I'm back at work but my heart is not in it so far. It keeps the wolf from the door I suppose.

This reminded me, Dragon, of a time when my daughter was in middle school. We were running around prepping to get to one of her sporting events. I asked her to pull a few needed items from the clothes dryer. She responded “I am not the maid”. Well a maid had never graced our doorstep. I knew exactly of whom she was referring. Oh my how life instantly changed for her

I find hissing at my AV quite effective. Works while passing the alcohol aisle in the grocery aisle, too

Hi, weekenders.

Back from the dentist.

It will cost me a little fortune to save my tooth, plus I have two more teeth which need treatment.

Soccer fans made my subway ride a lot of fun though.

I am now decompressing: watching Poland vs Senegal and eating sweet cherries.

Skipping boxing. No excuses, just slacking around.

Great pics MidnightBlue! It looks like you have more room on you underground trains than we do. Looking at my monitor I see that Senegal are winning 2-0 with 4 minutes of normal time to go. They are doomed though ultimately as they are unlucky enough to be my time in the work's sweepstake.

It goes without saying that Poland scored within a nanosecond of me posting.

It's 31°c outside.
Has the summer finally arrived
I bit the bullet today. I applied for a job in a new department had a meeting with the director and then she said can you start next week...
Change is good but scary too.

The woman that was buried this morning was 93 years old. Isn't that just fantastic.

Some of my tomatoes are getting green and have small flowers appearing. All is not lost.

Hope everyone is mozying through the day and week. The sober the better....

Who is playing tonight?

Well done, Vinny. Congratulations on the new position.

Tomato growing season is over here but we had the best Cherry tomatoes and yellow pear tomatoes. Just pick, rinse and pop in the mouth - scrumptious
