I wish I could post something really positive but I am having bad cravings today. Got some good support on another thread but the cravings are not going away. I CAN NOT drink! It would be a disaster. No appetite but I forced myself to eat a turkey cucumber sandwich. And went for a walk two laps around the house (it has a huge yard). My right knee is giving up... probably needs to be injected. Most likely it's hurting because of years of wear and tear, I used to ride horses competitively, and because my right leg is shorter than the other from a hip replacement that had to be done twice. It is a gorgeous day today but I am having trouble coping with loneliness.

Hi, Icewater.

Positive is overrated.

I think modern society is too fixated on positivity as ultimate form of successful existence.

It takes some time for cravings to go away. The first month or so I sometimes just stared the wall because I couldn't do anything else and thoughts about wine were driving me crazy.

It will pass. Just don't give in.

You are not lonely. You are here. Rant away, share some mundane stuff, anything. Forget about positivity.

I am far from being positive today, and yet, as you can see, still tolerated by my fellow weekenders)

Wow. You did horse riding competitively. I used to do it as a hobby and it was one of the most challenging things I ever did.

Sorry about your knee.

Can you sit on a porch with a cup of tea and a good book?

Or, maybe join our world cup club and watch some soccer. Mexico is kicking Germany's arse.

Whatever. Just don't get that first drink.

Hi icewater.

My sponsor used to tell me that if the craving wouldn't go away, drink a glass of milk...it's something about the chemical makeup, no clue, but it really helps....it always worked for me....even though I don't like drinking milk.

Hey guys, just checking in on Sunday afternoon here.

I had several triggers this weekend, some urges and no drinks.

Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies out there.

Enjoy your day!

Great point Midnight blue and other good posts here. I cleaned out some old paperwork just to do something easy and of course it included hospital staments from my alcohol related trips to ER. Then a mini bottle rolled out from the box. I immediately thought of going to buy some. I thought I had cleared out all the empties! I managed to overcome the craving and are now sitting on the porch having green tea

Good job, Icewater!

Here's another cool soccer-related story how Leonel Messi assisted in scoring a goal with only one shoe on.

So, what were my excuses about?

Hi badgerden, Hi Icewater and well done for beating those cravings.

Vman you're right about Toyota, they should really have won the previous two as well.

I watched the Mexico Germany game too, Mexico look like possible winners of the tournament.

Why did we all wish biminiblue a happy birthday when it wasn't? (her birthday that is)

Midnight as an eastender I used to be a member of a club called Repton, it is sort of famous

when I was young, there is a photo of us kids all crouching down with Sonny Liston when he came to London (1969 I think ) You should know I was a rubbish boxer and made way for people that were better.
