Congratulations on the promotion and bonus, calmself!

Unfortunately, alcohol kind of steals that joy, ya know? I can ruin any good news or I can make bad news exponentially worse with a few pints.

Do you want to quit completely or do you want to keep drinking on Fridays?

After a while he became the best advertisement director in his country and directed Coca-Cola commercial for the World Cup.

Along with that he finally got back to playing soccer and now has two successful full-time careers.

What really amazes me about this is his self-confidence. For five years no one believed in him, but he believed in himself.

I can't even believe in myself when other people believe in me.

Let alone if for five years no one was interested in hiring me.

Where in the world do guys like him get self-confidence like this?
What a fantastic story! Here’s to never giving up on your dreams!

Fantastic indeed.

And even the better question is - how do I learn to be inspired by these stories instead of being intimidated.

Greetings, all.

Saoutchick, it is so sad what people do to their cities. London is such an amazing city - so rich in history and so full of culture and diversity. The trash, bottles, vomit is a reminder of the abject apathy and despair that lives among us and how close any of us could have come to share in it. Sends a shiver down my spine.

CK, that picture of the koala watching the World Cup was hysterical and so cute!

Suze, it is hard to imagine what your grandparents and great grandparents went through. Talk about fortitude!

Vman, it is hard to watch friends and loved ones go down that slippery slope, isn’t. I have just recently started Al-Anon due to alcoholism in my family. I am extremely concerned for my sister.

Enjoy the festival, Bim. Arts and crafts are my favorite; I am always how creative people can be.

In the middle of another thinderstorm here - whoa, that was one major crack of lightening and roll of thunder - cool stuff.

Have a great day/night, all.

Yes, alcohol stole the joy. A sober celebration would have been so much more pleasurable. My aim is to quit for good.

There has been so much rain that the tomatoes are having trouble flowering and growing. They are a sick looking color. Pity.

Vann do you top your peppers? Cut the tops off? This is my first year where I might have peppers, never been successful before.

Bass season opens tomorrow! And it is father's day. Going to kill 2 birds with one stone and join my papa at 4am on the lake.

I love your pictures Vinny.

And I am jealous (in a good way) that you can eat fruit right off the tree!

I don't know what topping is either. It appears from what my friend has done, that once they get to a certain point, she cuts the tops off, maybe to promote more horizontal growth? I guess I should ask her. Mmmm... apricots. You send me apricots I will send you mulberries!

I did a wander through the veggie and fruit patch, lots of raspberries, mulberry tree is full, carrots they are struggling, onions I don't know. Tomatoes are rocking It, cukes are weak, beans strong and this is shaping up to be a squash year, all varieties are kinda crazy lol! Lettuce and arugula is ok.

We are designated part of the pollinators path. Really it is just an excuse to not clean up the bush as well as we should. Whoever owned this place has even the tree lines landscaped. Our bushline is 700ft I am not landscaping that. It can grow in and I will register as a pollinators pathway.

One thing I didn't know about living near water, bats at dusk. Apparently the wake, fly in their spot for a bit, then head directly to water to drink. Right over our house. The first night I ran from the barn to the house and have adjusted my chore times accordingly.
