Rereading old posts...
Day 3 here, on a Friday which is my normal 'drinking day', and I remained sober
Anyway, I just reread all of my old posts on here from my previous attempts (I joined just under a year ago) - there have been 3 or 4. It was enlightening to see me feeling exactly the same way as I do now, and brought it home to me that I am on this merry-go-round doing the same thing again and again. If drinking was fun or something I wanted to do, I wouldn't keep coming back. The worst thing is looking back to posts where you had 38 days sober, knowing that within a week of that post you lapsed, and now you're back here on day 3 feeling EXACTLY the same as you did when you first started - well actually, worse because you have all these extra failures under your belt.
It's actually really motivated me, I recommend it if you are struggling!!

I agree also. I was having trouble not too long ago at 68 or 69 days and posted here first before drinking. Dee suggested that I re-read my old posts. I learned that I had the EXACT feelings at 68-69 days at one of my previous attempts. I think it is very helpful to re-read old posts. Very motivating.
Rereading old posts is an excellent tool. Seeing how the same thought patterns repeat is concrete proof that nothing changes if nothing changes. The AV is sneaky. It knows what worked in the past and will repeat those same tricks. Keep up the great work.
