50 days - reborn with a newborn...
I'm a sober, non-drinking, new father who welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world two days ago. I have a wonderful, beautiful 11 year -old son who is so happy to have a sister finally. My new wife is over-joyed with this child, in love with being a mother.
I was calm, clear-eyed, in the moment for the birth and have been for every waking, sleep-deprived second since she came to me.
I'm still working on being a better, sober, father with my son and have a great relationship with him, regardless of the selfish idiocy I put him through when I valued alcohol more than my responsibilities as a father and a man. Those days are gone, forever.
I could not have come to his point without the exploration, support and wisdom of SR. Thank you all, you know who you are and I bet some of you don't, but thank you so so much.
It's a BETTER LIFE sober. I really feel that in all of my person. I'm ready to endure the highs and lows, mundanity and wonder, beauty and heart-break, mistakes and wins, all of what life has in store for all of us if we have the guts and the strength to finally put the booze down.
Here's to a sober weekend, a sober June, a sober summer and a better world for us and all who we know and love.

Less - Congratulations to you and your beautiful daughter, of course her beautiful mother! What a wondrous reason to get sober, welcome your new addition with fresh eyes and all the awe that babies bring! You're off to a wonderful start and I couldn't be more happy for you (unless I was one of the grammies!) cheers to you. Hope you all are able to get some rest, A beautiful start to a great life!
