Food for thought
Food for thought
Good afternoon all.
January, February and beginning of March I was clean. It was fantastic. The longest I'd been sober in many years. The first attempt at stopping. Naive too. The reason for stopping was twofold 1. Health/well being and 2. It's Deja Vu, you know "I've been here before"...
Due to naivety and peer pressure clever Dave walked into a bar and had a cider.
March and April went by and last Tuesday morning I had the Deja Vu again.
I've been here before. Same people same faces same beer same bars same conversation same blackouts.....Nothing had changed.
Thankfully I'm back on track the odd thing is that I don't feel that Jan, Feb and beginning of March was a waste of time. I figure that period made me stronger to proceed to the future. March and April was a waste of time. I feel that I'm picking up from the beginning of March and this is not something I expected to feel/ happen. This food for thought has cheered me up a bit..
Be strong..
Best wishes
Dave

Time sober is definitely not wasted if you relapse. Think of the healing your body and mind made in that time. If you did not have that sober time you would be much worse off right now.
Congrats on getting back on the right path.
